IN COMMUNION -- BUT NOT HAPPY

Angry Catholics Throw Pachamama Idol
Into The Tiber River

How can a Catholic be in communion with the Pope if he doesn’t want anything to do with him?
by Eric Sammons, editor-in-chief of Crisis Magazine

For faithful Catholics, the pontificate of Francis has been like trying to survive 12 rounds with a heavyweight champion. Let’s review a few of the hits:

“Who am I to judge?”
“Breeding like rabbits”
“A plurality of religions is willed by God”
Cozying up to pro-abortion politicians
A disgraceful deal with the Chinese Communist Party
Promoting the work of Fr. James Martin
The scandalous Pontifical Academy for Life appointments
And that’s just off the top of my head! I’m sure you could rattle off many more. After nine years of this pontificate, most of us feel at least a bit woozy.

This unseemly situation can lead to some real soul-searching. As Catholics we are pre-programmed to respect, even like, our popes. But if we are being honest, Francis is a difficult man either to like or respect. His antagonism towards traditional and orthodox Catholics indicates that the feeling is mutual. Such distaste leads to the inevitable question:

How can a Catholic be in communion with the pope if he doesn’t want anything to do with him?

This is no academic question. The Catholic Church has always emphasized the importance of being in communion with Rome. From the earliest days of Christianity, Rome was seen as the locus (particular place) of the Church’s worldwide unity. To be out of communion with the successor of St. Peter was to separate oneself from the Body of Christ. But at the same time, to be a faithful Catholic means to doggedly adhere to the teachings of the Church as they have been handed on to us via Scripture and Tradition. So, what happens when we are required to be in communion with someone who works to upend those teachings?

In order to resolve this troubling paradox, we must understand what being “in communion with” means. First, it doesn’t mean to be “in agreement with” someone on every point of view. After all, every practicing Catholic is currently in communion with every other practicing Catholic in the world, and I guarantee that these millions of Catholics have very divergent views on politics, economics, culture, and a whole host of other subjects. And even more relevant, many of these practicing Catholics likely hold what are heretical views. I would imagine that there are a large number of Catholics, for example, who if asked to explain the Trinity would give what are actually heretical answers out of ignorance or misunderstanding. But we are still in communion.

So, what does “in communion with” mean?

It represents a visible acknowledgment of the visible Church. In Protestantism’s invisible church, there is no real concept of “in communion with.” A Protestant simply attends the church he likes the best, and if he stops liking it, he leaves and attends another. He is simply a visible member of a local community of like-minded believers, while remaining in the ethereal “invisible church.”

But for Catholics it’s quite different. We believe that we are members of a visible and universal Church, which includes not only all Catholics today, but all Catholics throughout history and into the future -- the saints and the sinners. That membership is a mystical reality brought about not by our like-mindedness, but by our shared partaking of Holy Communion.

This communion is both horizontal -- between all members of the Catholic Church -- and vertical -- between the newest baptized Catholic up to the pope and even the pope’s boss, Jesus Christ. In other words, our communion is not an acknowledgement that we all like each other or agree with each other, but a mutual submission of our will to Christ’s.

Furthermore, this communion is structured; it is hierarchical. In the plans of divine providence, Our Lord established a center for this communion here on earth -- the bishop of Rome who is the successor of St. Peter. In other words, in order to be in communion with each other, we must be in communion with the pope. This is not optional. We can’t say, “well, I’m in communion with my local parish, but not the pope.” To do so is to reject the communal structure set up by the One who brings about communion, Jesus Christ.

What about when that center of communion becomes himself a source of scandal? What happens when he appears to oppose teachings that come from Christ?

Some will argue that in this situation Francis is not really the pope -- either he wasn’t validly elected or his heresy automatically removes him from office. But this is a man-made attempt to reconfigure a divine reality to “solve” today’s problems. We don’t understand how we can have such a bad pope and still be in communion with him, so we try to fix the problem with human solutions.

This leads, however, to even greater problems. It’s somewhat like the many ancient attempts to explain the mystery of the Trinity with human “solutions” like modalism or Arianism. Such explanations might appear simpler and so easier for men and women to accept, but ultimately, they lead to fundamental misunderstandings of the nature of God. Likewise, human solutions to a problematic papacy might appear simpler and easier to accept, but they lead to fundamental misunderstandings of the Church and our communion in her.

As already noted, our communion is structured; it is hierarchical. This means that members have different roles to play, and it is not the role for the individual layman -- or an individual priest or bishop -- to declare that a pope is no longer pope or that he never was pope. Indeed, the very fact that a virtual unanimity of the hierarchy today acknowledges Francis as pope makes it clear that we must accept him as pope, and therefore be in communion with him.

The papacy is a mystery of our faith, and mysteries, naturally, can be difficult to understand or accept. Our current predicament reminds me of John 6:68-69, when Jesus asks the Twelve if they too will leave him over the hard teaching of the Eucharist. St. Peter responds, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” The chief Apostle didn’t understand how he was supposed to eat Christ’s flesh and drink his blood, but he had come to accept Jesus as the divine Savior and so for St. Peter Christ’s word was good enough.

Likewise, it can be difficult to accept today the hard teaching of the papacy and our need to be in communion with it. In eras of holy and wise popes, this teaching is natural and easy. But we do not live in such an era. So, we must say with St. Peter, “Lord, to whom shall we go?” Our Lord has made communion with the pope an essential part of the Catholic Faith -- something that has been attested to and practiced for 2,000 years. We cannot abandon it now, even in the face of severe challenges.

This is the test of our day. Will we try to humanly “solve” the problem of the Francis papacy, or will we trust in our Lord and remain in communion with Rome even in spite of the challenges that communion brings? It might feel like we’re in the middle of a heavyweight fight, but our duty is to persevere to the end, regardless of the blows we may receive on the way.

During the past three years, Pope Francis has caused numerous other grave scandals:
  • He convoked the Synod on Synodality, which by its structure and objectives seeks to undermine the Catholic Faith and set aside Christian morality.
  • He travelled to Canada to apologize for evils the Church did not commit and was present for a ceremony described by Archbishop Vigano as “the satanic rites of evocation of the dead performed by a shaman.”
  • He increased his attacks on Traditional Catholics with his Traditiones Custodes and accompanying measures.
  • He participated in the “Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions” in Kazakhstan, where he endorsed false religions and false gods.
  • He issued his apostolic letter Desiderio Desideravi, which suggests that the Church should permit everyone to receive communion.
  • And he has repeatedly put himself, and the apparent authority of the Catholic Church, at the service of the anti-Catholic globalists (in the UN and World Economic Forum) and the Great Reset.

"Christ is being moved from the center by Pope Francis's Vatican.
Rome seems confused about the importance of a strict monotheism hinting at some wider concept of divinity, not quite pantheism, but like a Hindu panentheism variant. (NOTE: Panentheism is different from pantheism.)
Pachamama is idolatrous.
The Christo-centric legacy of St. John Paul II in faith and morals is under systematic attack.
The situation of Tridentine traditionalists (Catholics) is being regularized."

MESSAGE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

DEAR AMERICAN PEOPLE, DEAR FRIENDS, for two years now, a global coup has been carried out all over the world, planned for some time by an elite group of conspirators enslaved to the interests of international high finance. This coup was made possible by an emergency pandemic that is based on the premise of a virus that has a mortality rate almost analogous to that of any other seasonal flu virus, on the delegitimization and prohibition of effective treatments, and on the distribution of an experimental gene serum which is obviously ineffective, and which also clearly carries with it the danger of serious and even lethal side effects. We all know how much the mainstream media has contributed to supporting the insane pandemic narrative, the interests that are at stake, and the goals of these groups of power: reducing the world population, making those who survive chronically ill, and imposing forms of control that violate the fundamental rights and natural liberties of citizens. And yet, two years after this grotesque farce started, which has claimed more victims than a war and destroyed the social fabric, national economies, and the very foundations of the rule of law, nothing has changed in the policies of Nations and their response to the so-called pandemic.

Last year, when many still had not yet understood the gravity of the looming threat, I was among the first to denounce this coup, and I was promptly singled out as a conspiracy theorist. Today more and more people are opening their eyes and beginning to understand that the emergency pandemic and the “ecological emergency” are part of a criminal plan hatched by the World Economic Forum, the UN, the WHO, and a galaxy of organizations and foundations that are ideologically characterized as clearly anti-human and -- this needs to be said clearly -- anti-Christian.

One of the elements that unequivocally confirms the criminal nature of the Great Reset is the perfect synchrony with which all the different Nations are acting, demonstrating the existence of a single script under a single direction. And it is disconcerting to see how the lack of treatment, the deliberately wrong treatments that have been given in order to cause more deaths, the decision to impose lockdowns and masks, the conspiratorial silence about the adverse effects of the so-called “vaccines” that are in fact gene serums, and the continuous repetition of culpable errors have all been possible thanks to the complicity of those who govern and the institutions. Political and religious leaders, representatives of the people, scientists and doctors, journalists and those who work in the media have literally betrayed their people, their laws, their Constitutions, and the most basic ethical principles.

The electoral fraud of the 2020 presidential election against President Trump has shown itself to be organic to this global operation, because in order to impose illegitimate restrictions in violation of the principles of law it was necessary to be able to make use of an American President who would support the psycho-pandemic and support its narrative. The Democratic Party, part of the deep state, is carrying out its task as an accomplice of the system, just as the deep church finds in Bergoglio its own propagandist. The recent rulings of the Supreme Court and the autonomous action of some American states -- where the vaccination obligation has been declared unconstitutional -- give us hope that this criminal plan can collapse and that those responsible will be identified and tried: both in America as well as in the whole world.

How was it possible to arrive at such a betrayal? How have we come to be considered enemies by those who govern us, not in support of the common good, but rather to feed a hellish machine of death and slavery?

The answer is now clear: throughout the world, in the name of a perverted concept of freedom, we have progressively erased God from society and laws. We have denied that there is an eternal and transcendent principle, valid for all men of all times, to which the laws of States must conform. We have replaced this absolute principle with the arbitrariness of individuals, with the principle that everyone is his own legislator. In the name of this insane freedom -- which is license and libertinage -- we have allowed the Law of God and the law of nature to be violated, legitimizing the killing of children in the womb, even up to the very moment of birth; the killing of the sick and the elderly in hospital wards; the destruction of the natural family and of Marriage; we have recognized rights to vice and sin, putting the deviations of individuals before the good of society. In short, we have subverted the entire moral order that constitutes the indispensable basis of the laws and social life of a people. Already in the fourth century B.C., Plato wrote these things in his last work the Laws and identified the cause of the Athenian political crisis precisely in the breaking of the divine order -- the cosmos -- between these eternal principles and human laws.

These natural moral principles of the Greco-Roman world found their fulfillment in Christianity, which built Western civilization by giving them a supernatural impetus. Christianity is the strongest defense against injustice, the strongest garrison against the oppression of the powerful over the weak, the violent over the peaceful, and the wicked over the good, because Christian morality makes each of us accountable to God and our neighbor for our actions, both as citizens and as rulers. The Son of God, whose Birth we will celebrate in a few days, became Incarnate in time and in history in order to heal an ancient wound, and to restore by Grace the order broken by disobedience. His social Kingship was the generating principle of the ordo Christianus that for two centuries now has been fiercely fought against by Freemasonry: because the Revolution it promotes is chaos; it is disorder; it is infernal rebellion against the divine order so as to impose Satan’s tyranny.

Now, as we see what is happening around us, we understand how mendacious were the promises of progress and freedom made by those who destroyed Christian society, and how deceptive was the prospect of a new Tower of Babel, built not only without regard for God but even in direct opposition to Him. The infernal challenge of the Enemy is repeated over the centuries unchanged, but it is doomed to inexorable failure. Behind this millennial conspiracy, the adversary is always the same, and the only thing that changes are the particular individuals who cooperate with him.

Dear American brothers and sisters! Dear Patriots! this is a crucial moment for the future of the United States of America and of the whole of humanity. But the pandemic emergency, the farce of global warming and the green economy, and the economic crisis deliberately induced by the Great Reset with the complicity of the deep state, are all only the consequence of a much more serious problem, and it is essential to understand it in depth if we want to defeat it. This problem is essentially moral; indeed, it is religious. We must put God back in the first place not only in our personal lives, but also in the life of our society. We must restore to Our Lord Jesus Christ the Crown that the Revolution has torn from Him, and in order for this to happen a true and profound conversion of individuals and of society is necessary. For it is absolutely impossible to hope for the end of this global tyranny if we continue to remove from the Kingdom of Christ the nations that belong to Him and must belong to Him. For this reason, the movement to overturn Roe v. Wade also acquires a very important meaning, since respect for the sacredness of unborn life must be sanctioned by positive law if it is to be a mirror of the Eternal Law.

You are animated by a yearning for justice, and this is a legitimate and good desire. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,” says the Lord (Mt 5:6). But this Justice must be based on the awareness that this is a spiritual battle in which it is necessary to take sides without equivocation and without compromise, holding transcendent and eternal references that even the pagan philosophers glimpsed, and that have found fulfillment in the Revelation of the Son of God, the Divine Master.

My appeal for an Anti-Globalist Alliance -- which I renew today -- aims precisely to constitute a movement of moral and spiritual rebirth which will inspire the civil, social and political action of those who do not want to be enslaved as slaves to the New World Order. A movement that at the national and local level will be able to find a way to oppose the Great Reset and that coordinates the denunciation of the coup that is currently in progress. Because in the awareness of who our adversary is and what his aims and purposes are, we can disrupt the criminal action he intends to pursue and force him to retreat. In this, the opposition to the pandemic farce and the vaccination obligation must be determined and courageous on the part of each of you.

Yours must therefore be a work of truth, bringing to light the lies and deceptions of the New World Order and their anti-human and anti-christic matrix. And in this it is mainly the laity and all people of good will -- each in the professional and civil role he holds -- who must coordinate and organize together to make a firm but peaceful resistance, so as not to legitimize its violent repression by those who today hold power.

Be proud of your identity as American patriots and of the Faith that must animate your life. Do not allow anyone to make you feel inferior just because you love your homeland, because you are honest at work, because you want to protect your family and raise your children with healthy values, because you respect the elderly, because you protect life from conception to its natural end. Do not be intimidated or seduced by those who propagate a dystopian world in which a faceless power imposes on you contempt for the Law of God, presents sin and vice as licit and desirable, despises righteousness and Morality, destroys the natural family and promotes the worst perversions, plans the death of defenseless and weak creatures, and exploits humanity for its own profit or to preserve power.

Be worthy heirs of the great Archbishop Fulton Sheen, and do not follow those of your Pastors who have betrayed the mandate they have received from Our Lord, who impose iniquitous orders on you or who remain silent before the evidence of an unheard of crime against God and humanity.

May this Holy Christmas illuminate your minds and inflame your hearts before the Infant King who lays in the manger. And just as the choirs of the Angels and the homage of the Magi united with the simple adoration of the Shepherds, so also today your commitment to the moral rebirth of the United States of America -- one Nation under God -- will have the blessing of Our Lord and will gather those who govern you around you. Amen.

May God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.

+ Carlo Maria ViganĂ², Archbishop

PAPA FRANCISCO PUSHES COVID-19 VACCINE

Faced with worldwide rejection of COVID-19 "vaccines" -- especially among religious conservatives -- the Holy Father aligns himself with fellow Globalists in an all-out effort to encourage worldwide vaccination.

“I believe that, ethically
everyone has to get the vaccine.”
- Papa Francisco

Holy Father,

Why would I get an experimental vaccine that has killed thousands of people worldwide when Ivermectin is highly effective as a safe prophylaxis (for prevention) and treatment (an actual cure) for COVID-19 -- and its "variants"?

Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine are medically verifiable, inexpensive, safe, effective -- and banned by the "powers that be."

WHY?

VACCINES for COVID-19 and its "variants" are a once-in-a-lifetime business opportunity for Big Pharma -- and the worse the "plandemic" gets, the higher the profits! (Follow the money.)

There is also a more "diabolical" purpose for the COVID vaccines. If the "powers that be" were really concerned about our health and well-being, they never would have banned medically verifiable, inexpensive, safe and effective drugs that actually cure coronavirus disease!

VIGIL OF PENTECOST WITH POPE FRANCIS

GOLDEN JUBILEE 2017
CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL

Vigil of Pentecost with Pope Francis at Circus Maximus on the Occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Catholic Charismatic Renewal
(June 3, 2017)

Vigil of Pentecost with Pope Francis
Circus Maximus, Rome
Part 1 of 2

Vigil of Pentecost with Pope Francis
Circus Maximus, Rome
Part 2 of 2

The following is the text of the Holy Father's address to 35,000 Catholic Charismatics at Circus Maximus:

Brothers and sisters, thank you for your witness today, here: thank you! It is good for all of us, it is good for me, for all! In the first chapter of the book of the Acts of the Apostles we read that: “And while staying with them He ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, He said, ‘you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now” (Acts 1: 4-5).

“When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2: 1-4).

Today we are here, as in an open-air Cenacle, because we are not afraid: in the open air, and also with a heart open to the promise of the Father. We are gathered, “all believers”, all those who profess that Jesus is the Lord. Many have come from different parts of the world and the Holy Spirit has gathered us to establish bonds of fraternal friendship that encourage us on the path to unity, unity for the mission: not to be static, no! for the mission, to proclaim that Jesus is the Lord – JesĂºs es el Señor – to announce together the love of the Father for all His children! To announce the Good News to all peoples! To demonstrate that peace is possible. It is not so easy to demonstrate to this, today’s world, that peace is possible, but in the name of Jesus we can show with our witness that peace is possible! But it is possible only if we are at peace among ourselves. If we accentuate our differences, we are at war with each other and we cannot proclaim peace. Peace is possible starting from our confession that Jesus is the Lord and from our evangelization on this road. It is possible. While showing that we have differences – but this is obvious, we have differences – but that we wish to be a reconciled diversity. Here, we must not forget this phrase, but say it to everyone: reconciled diversity. And this phrase is not mine, it is not mine. It is from a Lutheran brother. Reconciled diversity.

And now we are here, and there are many of us! We managed to pray together, to ask the coming of the Holy Spirit upon each one of us to go out into the streets of the city and of the world, to proclaim the lordship of Jesus Christ.

The book of the Acts affirms that we are “Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians – we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God” (Acts 2: 9-11). Speaking in the same language, listening, understanding… There are differences, but the Spirit enables us to understand the message of the resurrection of Jesus in our own language.

We are gathered here, believers from 120 countries in the world, to celebrate the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit in the Church, that took the initiative fifty years ago and gave rise to … an institution? No. An organization? No. To a current of grace, to the current of grace of Catholic Charismatic Renewal. A work that was born … Catholic? No. It was born ecumenical! It was born ecumenical because it is the Holy Spirit that creates unity and the same Holy Spirit that gave the inspiration for it to be thus! It is important to read the works of Cardinal Suenens on this: it is very important!

The coming of the Holy Spirit transforms men wrapped up in fear into courageous witnesses of Jesus. Peter, who had denied Jesus three times, full of the strength of the Holy Spirit proclaims: “Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus Whom you crucified” (Acts 2: 36). And this is the profession of faith of every Christian. God constituted as Lord and Christ that Jesus Whom you have or has been crucified. Do you agree on this profession of faith? [Answer: “yes”]. It is ours, everyone’s, all of us, the same!

The Word continues, saying, “And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved” (Acts 2: 44-47). The community was growing, and it was the Spirit that inspired it. I like very much to think of Philip, when the Angel said to him, “Go on the road to Gaza and find the proselyte, minister of economy of the Queen of Ethiopia, Candace. He was a proselyte and was reading Isaiah. And Philip explained the Word to him, proclaimed Jesus, and the man converted. And at a certain point, he said, “But here there is water: I want to be baptized”. It was the Spirit that drove Philip to go there, and from the beginning it was that the Spirit that drove all believers to proclaim the Lord.

Today we have chosen to gather here, in this place – as Pastor Traettino said – because here during the persecutions, Christians were martyred for the enjoyment of those who were watching. Today there are more martyrs than yesteryear! Today there are more martyrs, Christians. Those who kill Christians, before killing them, do not ask, “Are you Orthodox? Are you Catholic? Are you Evangelical? Are you Lutheran? Are you Calvinist?” No. “Are you Christian?” “Yes” – then your throat is cut, immediately. Today there are more martyrs than in the early times. And this is the ecumenism of blood: we are united by the witness of our martyrs of today. In several parts of the world Christian blood is being shed! Today the unity of Christians, united by the work of the Holy Spirit, in prayer and in action for the weakest, is more urgent than ever. Walk together, work together. Love each other. Love each other. And together seek to explain the differences, agree, but on the path! If we stay still, without walking, we will never, ever agree. This is how it is, because the Holy Spirit wants us to be on the move.

Fifty years of Catholic Charismatic Renewal. A current of grace of the Spirit! And why a current of grace? Because it has neither a founder, nor statutes, nor organs of governance. Clearly in these current multiple expressions have been born that are certainly human works inspired by the Spirit, with various charisms, and all in the service of the Church. But this current cannot be dammed, nor can the Holy Spirit be enclosed in a cage!

Fifty years have passed. When we reach this age, perhaps our strengths begin to decline. It is the halfway point in life – in my homeland we call it “el cinquentazo” – wrinkles become deeper – unless you make yourself up, but the wrinkles are there – the grey hairs increase in number, and we begin to forget certain things…

Fifty years is a good moment in life to stop and reflect. It is the moment for reflection: halfway through life. And I would say to you: it is the moment to go ahead with greater strength, leaving behind the dust of time that w have allowed to accumulate, being thankful for what we have received and facing the new with trust in the action of the Holy Spirit!

Pentecost enabled the birth of the Church. The Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father announced by Jesus Christ, it is He Who makes the Church: the Bride of the Apocalypse, a single bride! As Pastor Traettino said: the Lord has one bride!

The most precious gift that we have all received is baptism. And now the Spirit leads us on the path of conversion that all the Christian world follows, and which is another reason why Catholic Charismatic Renewal is a special place for following the way towards unity!

This current of grace is for all the Church, not just for some, and no-one among us is the “master” and all the others servants. No. We are all servants of this current of grace.

Together with this experience, you continually remind the Church of the power of prayer and praise. Praise which is the prayer of acknowledgment and thanksgiving for the gratuitous love of God. It may be that not everyone likes this form of prayer, but it is certainly fully integrated in the biblical tradition. The Psalms, for example: David who danced before the Ark of the Covenant, full of jubilation … and please, let us not fall into the trap of the attitude of Christians with the “Michal complex”, named after she who was ashamed of how David praised God [dancing before the Ark].

Jubilation, cheer, joy, fruit of the same action of the Holy Spirit! Either the Christian experiences joy in his or her heart, or there is something wrong. The joy of the announcement of the Good News of the Gospel!

Jesus in the Synagogue of Nazareth reads the passage of Isaiah. He reads. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor” (cf. Lk 4:18-19; Is 61: 1-2). The good news: do not forget this. The good, the joyful news: the Christian proclamation is always joyful.

The third document of Malines, “Charismatic Renewal and Service to Man”, written by Cardinal Suenens and Dom Helder Camara, is clear: charismatic renewal and also service to man.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit, praise, service to man. The three things are indissolubly joined. I can praise profoundly, but if I do not help those most in need, it is not enough. “There was not a needy person among them” (Acts 4: 34), said the Book of the Acts.

We will not be judged for our praise but for how much we have done for Jesus. But Lord, when did we do this for You? “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers” (cf. Mt. 25: 39-40).

Dear sisters and dear brothers, I wish you a time of reflection, of remembrance of your origins; a time to leave behind all the things added by the self and transform them into listening and joyful welcome of the action of the Holy Spirit, which breathes where and how He wishes!

I thank the Catholic Fraternity and the ICCRS for organizing this Golden Jubilee, for this Vigil. And I thank each one of the volunteers who have made this possible, many of whom are here. I wanted to greet the members of staff of the office when I arrived, because I know they have worked hard! And without payment! They have worked a lot. The majority are young people from various continents. May the Lord bless you.

I am thankful in particular for the fact that the request I made to you two years ago to give the Charismatic Renewal worldwide a single international service based here has started to take shape in the Constitutive Acts of this new single service. It is the first step; others will follow, but soon unity, the work of the Holy Spirit, will be a reality. “Behold, I am making all things new”, says the Lord (Rev. 21: 5).

Thank you, Catholic Charismatic Renewal, for what you have given the Church in these fifty years! The Church counts on you, on your fidelity to the Spirit, on your willingness to serve and your witness of lives transformed by the Holy Spirit!

Share with all in the Church the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, praise the Lord ceaselessly, walk together with Christians of different Churches and Christian communities in prayer and in action for those most in need. Serve the poorest and the sick, this is what the Church and the Pope expect of you, Catholic Charismatic Renewal, but from all of you: all, all of you who have entered in this current of grace! Thank you.

Father Raniero Cantalamessa, O.F.M. Cap.

The following is the text of Father Cantalamessa's address:

Father Cantalamessa began his meditation with a reading of the second chapter of the Acts of the Apostles. The following translation includes both the reading and some excerpts of his meditation.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. And they were amazed and wondered, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians, we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” (Acts 2:5-13)

This scene is repeating itself among us today. We too have come “from every nation under heaven,” and we are here to proclaim together “the mighty works of God.” There is, however, something else to discover in this part of the story of Pentecost. Since ancient times it has been understood that the author of Acts—and this means first of all the Holy Spirit!— through this insistence on the phenomenon of tongues, wanted to make us understand, that at Pentecost something takes place that reverses what happened at Babel. The Spirit transforms the linguistic chaos of Babel into a new harmony of voices. This explains why the account of Babel in Genesis 11 is traditionally inserted among the biblical readings for the Pentecost Vigil.

The builders of Babel were not, as it was once thought, wicked people who intended to defy God, a kind of equivalent of the Titans of Greek mythology. No, they were pious and religious people. The tower they wanted to construct was a temple to the divinity, one of those temples with layered terraces called ziggurat, whose ruins can still be found in Mesopotamia. What then was their sin? Let us listen to what they said among themselves when they started to work on it: “They said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth’” (Gen 11:4).

Martin Luther makes an illuminating observation about these words: “Let us build ourselves a city and a tower”: let us build it for ourselves, not for God. . . . “Let us make a name for ourselves”: let us do it for ourselves. The people take no concern for the name of God to be glorified; they are concerned with making their own name great.

In other words, God is being exploited; he must serve their desire for power. They perhaps thought, according to the mindset at that time, that by offering sacrifices from a great height they could win victories from the divinity over the neighboring peoples. This is the reason God was forced to confound their languages and derail their project.

This suddenly brings the matter of Babel and its builders very close to us. How many of the divisions among Christians have been due to a secret desire to make a name for ourselves, to elevate ourselves above others, to relate to God from a superior position in comparison to others! How many have been due to the desire to make a name for ourselves or for our own church more than for God! This is where our Babel comes from!

Let us turn now to Pentecost. Here too we see a group of men, the apostles, who are preparing to build a tower that goes from earth to heaven, the Church. At Babel they still spoke one single language, but at a certain point people no longer understood one another; at Pentecost all the people are speaking different languages, but everyone understands the apostles. Why? It is because the Holy Spirit had brought about a Copernican revolution in them.

Before this moment the apostles were also preoccupied with making a name for themselves, and they often discussed “who among them was the greatest.” Now the Holy Spirit has shifted their focus away from themselves and refocused them on Christ. The heart of stone has been shattered, and in its place beats “a heart of flesh” (Ezek 36:26). As Jesus had promised before leaving them, they were “baptized in the Holy Spirit” (see Act 1:5-8), that is, they were completely submerged in the ocean of God’s love that was poured out upon them (see Rom 5:5).

They are dazzled by the glory of God. Their speaking in diverse languages can also be explained by the fact that they were speaking with their eyes, with their faces, with their hands, with the amazement of people who have seen things too lofty to put in words. “We hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” The reason they all understood the apostles is that they were no longer speaking about themselves but about God!

God is calling us to bring about that same conversion in our lives: a conversion from ourselves to God, from the smaller unity of our parish, our movement, our own church, to the greater unity that is the unity of the whole body of Christ, indeed of all of humanity. It is the bold step that Pope Francis is urging us Catholics to take and that representatives of other churches assembled here demonstrate they want to share! - Translated by Aleteia

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR

A NEW PENTECOST

Catholic Charismatic Renewal

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI

"What we learn in the New Testament on charisms, which appeared as visible signs of the coming of the Holy Spirit, is not a historical event of the past, but a reality ever alive. It is the same divine Spirit, soul of the Church, that acts in every age and those mysterious and effective interventions of the Spirit are manifest in our time in a providential way. The Movements and New Communities are like an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the Church and in contemporary society. We can, therefore, rightly say that one of the positive elements and aspects of the Community of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal is precisely their emphasis on the charisms or gifts of the Holy Spirit and their merit lies in having recalled their topicality in the Church." _ Address of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI to Charismatic Catholics, October 2008

"...Do not grow weary of turning to Heaven: the world stands in need of prayer. It needs men and women who feel the attraction of Heaven in their life, who make praise to the Lord a new way of life. And may you be joyful Christians! I entrust you all to Mary Most Holy, present in the Upper Room at the event of Pentecost. Persevere with her in prayer, walk guided by the light of the living Holy Spirit, proclaiming the Good News of Christ." _ Address of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI to Charismatic Catholics, May 26, 2012

Halfhearted Commitment to the Faith is Nauseating to Christ: "I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit (vomit) you out of my mouth." (Revelation 3:15-16)

Evangelii Gaudium
Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Francis
On the Proclamation of the Gospel in
Today’s World

#259) Spirit-filled evangelizers means evangelizers fearlessly open to the working of the Holy Spirit. At Pentecost, the Spirit made the apostles go forth from themselves and turned them into heralds of God’s wondrous deeds, capable of speaking to each person in his or her own language. The Holy Spirit also grants the courage to proclaim the newness of the Gospel with boldness (parrhesĂa) in every time and place, even when it meets with opposition. Let us call upon him today, firmly rooted in prayer, for without prayer all our activity risks being fruitless and our message empty. Jesus wants evangelizers who proclaim the good news not only with words, but above all by a life transfigured by God’s presence.

#261) Whenever we say that something is “spirited,” it usually refers to some interior impulse which encourages, motivates, nourishes and gives meaning to our individual and communal activity. Spirit-filled evangelization is not the same as a set of tasks dutifully carried out despite one’s own personal inclinations and wishes. How I long to find the right words to stir up enthusiasm for a new chapter of evangelization full of fervor, joy, generosity, courage, boundless love and attraction! Yet I realize that no words of encouragement will be enough unless the fire of the Holy Spirit burns in our hearts. A spirit-filled evangelization is one guided by the Holy Spirit, for he is the soul of the Church called to proclaim the Gospel. Before offering some spiritual motivations and suggestions, I once more invoke the Holy Spirit. I implore him to come and renew the Church, to stir and impel her to go forth boldly to evangelize all peoples.

THE ALL-SEEING EYE

Many religions have used the image of an "eye" as a religious symbol. The "all-seeing eye" can be traced back to ancient Egypt and the eye of Horus.

The Catholic Church added a "triangle" around this pre-Christian image/symbol and surrounded it with "rays of light" to show that God Is Trinitarian -- that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are Three Divine Persons Who are One Divine Being. The All-Seeing Eye was an explicit image of the Holy Trinity in Christendom.

Supper at Emmaus, Jacopo Pontormo (1525)

"Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon those who fear Him, upon those who count on His mercy (Psalm 33:18)." For centuries, this Catholic symbol was understood to be the "Eye of Providence" -- the "All-Seeing Eye" of God (watching over us).

Aachen Cathedral in Germany, Charlemagne (786)

Freemasonry appropriated the Eye of Providence or All-Seeing Eye to "neutrally" represent god (by whatever name one may believe in). And the use of this symbol as uniquely Masonic first appeared in the publication of Thomas Smith Webb's Freemasons Monitor (1797). To the Freemasons, the All-Seeing Eye represents the Great Architect of the Universe.

Great Architect of the Universe (1797)

Most Freemasons do not really understand the symbols of the Craft; they are "intentionally misled by false interpretations" regarding these. The true meanings of Masonic symbols are "reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry." _ Albert Pike (33rd Degree Mason and Occultist), Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry

The "Princes of Masonry" know that the All-Seeing Eye -- the Great Architect of the Universe -- is the Eye of Lucifer, the Morning Star, the Light-bearer. This is the hidden mystery that is revealed to those of the higher degrees.

Freemasons revere Lucifer, the Morning Star, the Light-bearer who brings light, knowledge and intelligence to mankind. Freemasons are deceived to believe that Lucifer is a god. They revere the beautiful archangel Lucifer before his fall. They do not recognize him as "Satan." And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

How you have fallen from the heavens, O Morning Star... In your heart you said: "I will scale the heavens... I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will be like the Most High!"
No! Down to Sheol you will be brought to the depths of the pit! (Isaiah 14:12-15)

Lucifer is the light of Freemasonry. Lucifer is the god of the Masonic Temple. Freemasonry is Luciferian illumination. "And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be (Matthew 6:23)."

Today, Evangelical fundamentalists accuse the Catholic Church of paganism -- and much worse. They don’t realize that they are listening to the wrong voice! Although both Catholicism and Freemasonry have used the All-Seeing Eye as a symbol, only the ignorant equate the two.

All who viciously attack the Catholic Church will discover how wrong they have been -- in this life, or the next.

“There are not even 100 people in this country who hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they think the Catholic Church to be.” … “If I were not a Catholic, and were looking for the true Church in the world today, I would look for the one Church which did not get along well with the world; in other words, I would look for the Church which the world hated…” _ Venerable Fulton J. Sheen

The Catholic Church has condemned Freemasonry for centuries. And the Church's position is clear:

"The Church's negative judgment in regard to Masonic association remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and therefore membership in them remains forbidden. The faithful who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion." _ DECLARATION ON MASONIC ASSOCIATIONS, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI), Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (November 26, 1983)

"Eight popes have issued pronouncements condemning Freemasons or those activities and principles identified with Freemasonry: Popes Clement XII, Benedict XIV, Pius VII, Leo XII, Pius VIII, Gregory XVI, Pius IX and Leo XIII have condemned Freemasonry and its principles. Both the 1917 (article 2335) and 1983 (article 1374) Code of Canon Law have imposed the penalties of excommunication and interdict on Catholics who become Freemasons.
One must bear in mind that most newcomers to Freemasonry are for the most part oblivious to the ultimate goal of the society. In his encyclical Humanum Genus Pope Leo XIII stated that the unsuspecting newcomers to the secret society are most likely unaware of their ultimate goals and should not be considered partners in the criminal acts perpetrated by Freemasonry.
Nota bene (Note well): Throughout her visions Blessed Emmerich specifically mentions the "Illuminati" and the "Freemasons" as secret societies most dangerous to the Catholic Church." _ Rev. Joseph L. Iannuzzi, STD, Ph.D.

Humanum Genus,

On Freemasonry

#2) …At this period, however, the partisans of evil seem to be combining together, and to be struggling with united vehemence, led on or assisted by that strongly organized and widespread association called the Freemasons. No longer making any secret of their purpose, they are now boldly rising up against God Himself. They are planning the destruction of holy Church publicly and openly…
#10) …Now, the Masonic sect produces fruits that are pernicious and of the bitterest savor. For, from what We have above most clearly shown, that which is their ultimate purpose forces itself into view -- namely, the utter overthrow of that whole religious and political order of the world which the Christian teaching has produced, and the substitution of a new state of things in accordance with their ideas, of which the foundations and laws shall be drawn from mere naturalism.

A Christian Reflection on the “New Age”

#4) …The New Age which is dawning will be peopled by perfect, androgynous (hermaphroditic) beings who are totally in command of the cosmic laws of nature. [For example: biotechnology (engineering and manipulating the genetic makeup, the DNA, of organisms) and nanotechnology (engineering and controlling matter at the atomic level)] In this scenario, Christianity (and Christian morality) has to be eliminated and give way to a global religion (a religion of naturalism) and a (totalitarian) New World Order…

THE ILLUMINATI IN THE UNITED STATES

The Illuminati is a name given to several groups/organizations which claim to have links to the original Bavarian Illuminati, a secret society founded on May 1, 1776. The Illuminati -- along with Freemasonry and other secret societies -- allegedly conspire to control world affairs, by planning events and placing people in government in order to gain political power to establish a New World Order.

"Conspiracy theory" has acquired a derogatory meaning and is used to discredit inquiry and dismiss or ridicule one's belief in a conspiracy. But conspiracies do exist!

Today there is much talk about the Illuminati. But does the Illuminati exist today in the United States? The answer is YES.

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is the Illuminati in the United States.

Some "Current" CFR Members in the United States Include: Joe Biden (47th Vice-President of the United States), Dick Cheney (46th Vice-President of the United States), Hillary Rodham Clinton (67th Secretary of State under Barack Obama), Bill Clinton (42nd President of the United States), George H.W. Bush (41st President of the United States), John Kerry (68th Secretary of State under Barack Obama), Newt Gingrich (58th Speaker of the House of Representatives), John McCain (Senator from Arizona), Dianne Feinstein (Senator from California)... Ruth Bader Ginsburg (United States Supreme Court Justice)... George Soros (currency speculator, investor), Richard Branson (founder of Virgin Group), Rupert Murdoch (founder/chairman/CEO of News Corp and Fox News)... Charles Krauthammer (Fox News commentator and columnist for Washington Post), Heather Nauert (Fox News journalist), Charlie Rose (PBS journalist), Diane Sawyer (ABC News journalist), Lesley Stahl (CBS News journalist)... Angelina Jolie (actress, UN Goodwill Ambassador), George Clooney (actor, United Nations Messenger of Peace)... and Heidi Cruz, wife of presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

Hillary Clinton at the CFR on July 15, 2009
This CFR location is just one block from the White House.

This CFR puppet wants to be President of the United States!

Hillary Clinton said, "We get a lot of advice from the Council, so this will mean I won't have as far to go to be told what we should be doing and how we should think about the future."

Admiral Chester Ward, former Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Navy, was a CFR member for twenty years. He became one of its sharpest critics.

[The goal of the CFR is the] "submergence of U.S. sovereignty and national independence into an all-powerful, one-world government... this lust to surrender the sovereignty and independence of the United States is pervasive throughout most of the membership..." _ Admiral Chester Ward, Kissinger on the Couch, pp. 144-150 (1975)

"Once the ruling members of the CFR have decided that the U.S. Government should adopt a particular policy, the very substantial research facilities of CFR are put to work to develop arguments, intellectual and emotional, to support the new policy, and to confound and discredit, intellectually and politically, any opposition." _ Admiral Chester Ward, Kissinger on the Couch, p. 151 (1975)
