NECESSITY OF BAPTISM

Trinitarian Baptism

Jesus answered (Nicodemus), "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit." (John 3:5)

"For every Christian, before his Baptism, was the slave of the Devil, seeing that he belonged to him." _ Saint Louis de Montfort

Fort Wayne, IN (April 2015)

Several months ago, I traveled to a Protestant home in Indiana where there was some mild poltergeist activity, and a 3-year-old boy being attacked in his sleep every night. While I was there, I witnessed this spiritual attack.

At one-o'clock in the morning, the boy suddenly woke up screaming. When I entered his bedroom he was standing in his crib, crying out for his mother. He did not react to my sudden appearance in his room. I sprayed the entire room with holy water. Suddenly, the boy collapsed in the crib and fell fast asleep.

The next morning I chose not to use the House Cleansing Prayer. I thought it might be "too Catholic" for this Protestant family. Instead, I sprayed holy water in every room, closet and hallway. This successfully cleared the home. Then I instructed the parents to do the same, should the need arise in the future.

The 3-year-old boy had not been baptized. The parents attend a Pentecostal church that does not believe in baptizing children. And when they do baptize they use the Unitarian formula, considered to be invalid by the Catholic Church.

[In the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), the Pentecostal Churches are listed among the churches with an "invalid" baptism because they use the Unitarian baptismal formula ("I baptize you in the name of Jesus") rather than the Trinitarian baptismal formula ("I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit").]

I explained that children also have need of baptism to be freed from the powers of darkness. I explained that their son has no protection -- that without baptism, he remains vulnerable to the demonic attacks.

~ * * * ~

In case of necessity, anyone, even a non-baptized person, with the required intention, can baptize, by using the Trinitarian baptismal formula. The intention required is to will to do what the Church does when she baptizes. The Church finds the reason for this possibility in the universal saving will of God and the necessity of Baptism for salvation. (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1256)

In case of necessity, any person can baptize provided that he have the intention of doing that which the Church does and provided that he pours water on the candidate's head while saying: "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1284)

~ * * * ~

The family and I traveled to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne for holy water. (Before contacting me, the boy's father had come here for help.) I was surprised to find such a large "baptismal font" in the cathedral.

Baptismal Font - Cathedral, Fort Wayne, IN

As we were filling the spray bottle with holy water from the baptismal font, I was faced with a dilemma: Could this 3-year-old boy being attacked in his sleep every night by a demon wait until he becomes a teenager to receive an invalid baptism?

I asked the mother if she would like me to baptize her son. She said, "Yes." So, I baptized the boy using the Trinitarian baptismal formula.

The boy is now a child of God, a new creation in Christ. And the baptism stopped the demonic attacks!

UPDATE (11/18/2015)

I received a call from the Protestant family in Fort Wayne, IN. The 3-year-old boy is doing well. And, the father is now in the RCIA program.

Glory to God!

MORE THAN MENTAL ILLNESS

I know three families who are desperately trying to get help from the Catholic Church for a family member suffering with demonic possession. Two families have been trying to get help for about five years; for the other family, it has been eight years. How many cases of demonic possession are "falling through the cracks?"

Listed in the Roman Ritual are five indicators (signs) of possible demonic possession: 1) speaking foreign or ancient languages of which the possessed has no prior knowledge; 2) supernatural abilities and strength; 3) knowledge of hidden or remote things which the possessed has no way of knowing; 4) an aversion to anything holy; 5) profuse blasphemy and/or sacrilege. And when these specific signs of demonic possession are absent, the “rite of exorcism” is usually denied.

But there are other signs/indicators of demonic possession. Sometimes it takes more time to discern these other signs; sometimes it is a compilation of signs. It is also possible for one to be “partially” possessed -- that is, demonized.

The partially possessed person is "demonized" -- that is,
has an evil spirit in his/her body.

Too many cases of possession are "falling through the cracks." They are considered (and dismissed as) oppression or obsession -- or misdiagnosed as mental illness.

What are these other signs/indicators of demonic possession?

The following is from a 2010 case that was not recognized as demonic possession. It is from my correspondence with a desperate mother seeking help for her suffering son.

It is obvious that something more than mental illness is happening here! And many of the same signs/indicators are present in current cases.

A young man had been depressed for a couple months... His mother writes:

"He made his room real dark so that sunlight doesn't shine in. He starts crying for no reason. Then he shakes, becomes violent, and punches holes in walls. Cursing, throwing things, playing with fire. He broke windows, he had episodes of destroying his bedroom, ripping up photos, breaking stereos, cell phones, remote controls. He coughs alot and has thick phlem. He makes noises, and hears you talk even if you talk as low as possible."

"His father committed suicide in 2003 and I think but am not sure if he is experiencing energy from the dark side. I need some help please. He also doesn't associate with family and friends much. He stays home all day and goes out at night between the hours of 9 pm and 2 am."

"... I didn't believe that this happens in real life. I just started noticing changes within the last couple months. He won't go see a psychiatrist for any help."

"My oldest son said when he lived here and slept in this room he would experience and see things. I'm scared to death of what's going on. My sister would never feel comfortable here and would never use the bathroom upstairs."

"As far as I know... he is not involve with the Occult. I don't know what to do or where to turn or what is really going on. I JUST KNOW HE SEEMED DEPRESSED AND NOW ITS GETTING WORSE AND HE BECOMES ANGRY AND DESTRUCTIVE AND CRYS AND SHAKES FORCEFULLY AND HE WONT TELL ME WHATS BOTHERING HIM! HIS FATHER COMMITTED SUICIDE IN 2003 AND I'M AFRAID HE'S GONNA DO THE SAME."

"He has never been baptized. He got into smoking weed which makes him vulnerable for take-over -- Am I correct?"

"I'm not going crazy. I don't use drugs or alcohol, and I can feel something is really wrong. I feel like when I leave in the morning that someone is watching me from his window. It's really scary and creepy."

"I am not getting no where with him. I had the cops here 4 times already and no help. I contacted the priest you referred me to but he has not returned any of my phone calls."

"Still breaking holes in the wall, threatening to commit suicide. Nobody is helping. Police took him for several psychiatric evaluations -- and they let him go. I contacted Crisis today to see if they can help because even if there is demonic activity, he also needs psychiatric care."

"They are releasing him from the hospital today. I was wondering if you have heard anything yet about getting him baptized."

"I have been praying, still haven't noticed a change, unless its my nerves. I've been real shaky and my body trembles when I'm sleeping. I hope he (the parish priest) contacts me soon. He was released today."

"...I think Father (parish priest) was trying to call me last night, but the phone only rang twice, and when I answered there was nothing but (name of church) showed up on my caller ID. As for me, I am still praying and I am still shaky..."

"Thanks to the hospital releasing my son and not getting the help he needed, he ended up taking someones life. I am totally stressed out and hurting so bad."

In submission to rightful spiritual authority, I presented the facts of this case to the parish priest. I explained that this is a case of demonic possession, and that the young man had never been baptized. I trusted the priest to act on this -- but he waited too long...

The young man is now in prison. He has not yet been baptized -- and he is still possessed. The priest continues to visit him in prison and is doing all he can do. (The young man is allowed only one visitor.)

“O Jesus, I surrender
Miguel, Dillon, Daniel and Guillermo
To You;
Take care of everything!”

“To fix a set ‘model’ for demonic possession would be a serious mistake; the affliction runs the gamut of symptoms and severity.” _ Fr. Gabriele Amorth

UFO DECEPTION

Fox Mulder’s Poster,
The X-Files (1993–2002)

From “The Coming Counterfeit”
By Mark Mallett
(Comments in red are mine.)

STARRY DECEPTION?

“I am not certain that we can ignore the increasing manifestation of ‘UFOs’ and the deception that may accompany this. There is a belief within the New Age that the mythology of the gods and the human race was ‘birthed’ from aliens… aliens who will return at some point to bring us into an age of peace and harmony. (Of course, this is nonsense.) One researcher estimates that there are six ‘sightings’ somewhere in the world every hour.” (This is not nonsense.)

“I agree with many other Christians that these (UFOs) are deceptions, but on a couple different levels. For one thing, in those who have been ‘abducted’ (by aliens -- which are demons), there is often left behind a ‘residue’ of after-effects which are very similar to demonic possession, including at times the smell of sulfur.”

[There are no aliens, and there is no extraterrestrial threat. As with “sleep paralysis,” the “alien abduction” experience is a demonic attack that can be abruptly stopped by crying out the Name, Jesus! (Philippians 2:9-11)]

“While there appears to be a demonic element to UFO abductions, there is also evidence that governments possess far more advanced technology than many realize. The ability to produce ‘anti-gravity’ effects has been proven, but never allowed to proliferate in the private sector: it could very well be that UFOs are, in fact, not driven by little green men from Mars, but the product of highly advanced earth technology. This is precisely the conclusion of some who have been involved in high levels of the New Age, but have converted to Christianity. It is also the conclusion of some brilliant scientists and inventors in our time who have been silenced or eliminated when their discoveries and inventions have ‘gone too far.’ Is a coordinated ‘UFO invasion’ possible? Yes, it’s possible… but not from aliens, rather, powerful people wielding powerful tools of manipulation (and control).

 REMEMBER THIS?

12/4/1985 _ U.S. President Ronald Reagan remarks to students and faculty @ Fallston High School, Fallston, Maryland ... 9/21/1987 _ President Reagan’s Address to The General Assembly @ The United Nations (UN), Manhattan, New York City, NY ... 5/4/1988 _ President Reagan’s Address to Members and Guests of National Strategy Forum @ Palmer House Hilton, Chicago, Illinois.

For those involved in Satanism (Freemasonry) and black magic (rituals), it is an Occultic rite to inform their victims, usually in veiled messages, of what they will be doing to them. For those with power and money (members of secret societies conspiring to establish a New World Order), it may often be done through the media in very non-implicating ways. Have the proliferation of Hollywood UFO movies where ‘aliens’ invade or attack or save the earth been a subtle way of projecting a message to the public under the guise of entertainment? (A form of Conditioning.)

Several years ago, I was having a reoccurring dream in which the stars would begin to spin… and then change into fleets of strange, droning aircraft. Some time after, in an instant, I was given to understand what this dream was, and it frightened me (more so because I thought it was crazy!) But now that I have come to understand that such technologies exist and have been witnessed by very credible people (who said the UFOs they saw were not aliens, but definitely man-made), it makes sense in the bigger picture. But it is still disturbing given the conditioning that we continue to see in the media for the public to accept these flying saucers as visitors from space. Can you imagine the panic…?

Considering how widespread is the world’s fascination with UFOs (a sign of the times), this is a deception we should keep in mind, for it may play a significant role in the larger deception that will seduce mankind. [Therefore, God is sending them a deceiving power so that they may believe the lie, that all who have not believed the truth but have approved wrongdoing may be condemned. (2 Thessalonians 11-12)If you see UFOs appear over your cities some day, remember what was written here.”

NEW AGE

From an Exorcism / Deliverance Workshop
Kenrick-Glennon Seminary (10/25/2007)

“Ransomed From Darkness”
Moira Noonan

“Is your faith stronger than your fascination?”

“When you come into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of the peoples there.
Let there not be found among you anyone who immolates his son or daughter in the fire, nor a fortune-teller, soothsayer, charmer, diviner, or caster of spells, nor one who consults ghosts and spirits or seeks oracles from the dead.
Anyone who does such things is an abomination to the LORD, and because of such abominations the LORD, your God, is driving these nations out of your way.” (Deuteronomy 18:9-12)

All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to “unveil” the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2116)

All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame Occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others -- even if this were for the sake of restoring their health -- are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2117)

Superstition is a departure from the worship that we give to the (One) True God. It is manifested in idolatry, as well as in various forms of divination and magic. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2138)

“I will sprinkle clean water upon you to cleanse you from all your impurities, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.
I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you, taking from your bodies your stony hearts and giving you natural hearts.
I will put My Spirit within you and make you live by My statutes, careful to observe My decrees.” (Ezekiel 36:25-27)

JESUS CHRIST
THE BEARER OF THE WATER OF LIFE
A Christian reflection
on the “New Age”

#4 _ NEW AGE AND CHRISTIAN FAITH IN CONTRAST:
The New Age which is dawning will be peopled by perfect, androgynous (hermaphroditic) beings who are totally in command of the cosmic laws of nature. [For example: biotechnology (engineering and manipulating the genetic makeup, the DNA, of organisms) and nanotechnology (engineering and controlling matter at the atomic level)] In this scenario, Christianity (and Christian morality) has to be eliminated and give way to a global religion (a religion of naturalism) and a (totalitarian) new world order.

PURGATORY, HUMAN HAUNTINGS & VISITATIONS

“…every sin, even venial, entails an unhealthy attachment to creatures, which must be purified either here on earth, or after death in the state called Purgatory…” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1472)

Even when someone dies in a state of grace, there is usually “spiritual baggage” (venial sins… selfishness, stubbornness… abusiveness). Every trace of sin must be eliminated; every imperfection in the soul must be corrected.

“I did not know that even the smallest transgressions will have to be accounted for.” _ St. Faustina, Divine Mercy in My Soul, #36

According to the grace of God given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But each one must be careful how he builds upon it, for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely, Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, the work of each will come to light, for the Day will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire [itself] will test the quality of each one’s work. (Fire both destroys and purifies.) If the work stands that someone built upon the foundation, that person will receive a wage. But if someone’s work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; the person will be saved, but only as through fire.
(1 Corinthians 3:10-15)

~ * * * ~

“For Catholics, there is no such thing as a lingering or wandering soul who has not cut the bonds of this earthly life.” _ Fr. Thomas J. Euteneuer, exorcist

THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF HAUNTINGS:
2) Human hauntings are purgatorial.

HUMAN HAUNTINGS

There are places (usually houses) where people have heard things -- like faint voices, moans, sobs, sighs… footsteps or knocking -- when no one is there. There are places where things have moved -- like finding personal items where they have not been placed or doors opening and closing… And there are places where people have seen shadows (and shadow men)…

Places like these could (but not always) be haunted by disembodied human souls -- purgatorial souls. These human souls are working out their spiritual baggage… and need our help to be released. Some are allowed by God to communicate with the living.

St. Padre Pio once told the story of a little friar doing some cleaning (and making some noise) during the night, in the shadow of the Tabernacle lamp. When asked who he was, the young monk answered, “I am a brother of yours that made the novitiate here. I was ordered to clean the altar during the year of the novitiate. Unfortunately many times I didn’t reverence Jesus while passing in front of the altar, thus causing the Holy Sacrament that was preserved in the tabernacle to be disrespected. For this serious carelessness, I am still in Purgatory. Now, God, with His endless goodness, sent me here so that you may quicken the time I will enjoy Paradise. Take care of me.”

Wanting to be generous to this suffering soul, Padre Pio exclaimed, “You will be in Paradise tomorrow morning, when I will celebrate Holy Mass.” The poor soul cried out, “Cruel!” Then he wept and disappeared.

With pain and regret, Padre Pio later confessed, “…In fact, I would have been able to immediately send that soul to Heaven, but I condemned him to remain another night in the flames of Purgatory.”

~ * * * ~

It is true. Some poor souls do their Purgatory on earth. Although some are dark, and are in the lower levels of Purgatory, they are not demonic! They are disembodied human souls working out their spiritual baggage...

These “human hauntings” are never destructive; they pose no harm to the living. And when purgatorial souls subtly make themselves known, they are usually asking for prayers (and Masses), blessings and sacrifices… Sometimes a house blessing by a priest -- along with prayers for the purgatorial souls -- is enough to release them and clear a house.

WARNING!

“Those who engage in spiritism think that they are summoning up the souls of the dead. In reality, if there is some response to their call, it is always and without exception Satan and his (fallen) angels who are answering. People who practice spiritism are doing something very dangerous for themselves and for those who come to them for advice. (They are opening themselves and others to the demonic.) They are up to their necks in lies. It is forbidden, strictly forbidden, to call up (conjure) the dead. (This is necromancy.) As for me, I have never done so, I do not do so, and I never will do so. When something appears to me, God alone permits it.”
_ Maria Simma of Austria

VISITATIONS FROM PURGATORY

Only with God’s consent may the dead in Purgatory (the poor souls) visit the living on earth. When these poor souls appear to the living, they usually look as they did during life -- but with expressions of suffering… They always present themselves in a way that evokes compassion -- not fear. Sometimes they speak… and then they disappear.

About five years ago when I lived on the east side, my neighbor was a 90-year-old woman in very good health. We became good friends…

The Our Lady Help of Christians chapel was across the street and my neighbor often saw me going to daily Mass. One day after Mass, she was waiting at her door, calling for me. I ran over to her and saw that she was troubled. Then she sat me down and told me what had happened to her the night before.

She woke up during the night and saw her late husband standing in the doorway. (He had been dead for over 25 years!) He walked over to her bed and laid down beside her. Then he got up, walked towards the doorway, and disappeared.

I found this interesting because she was an Evangelical Lutheran -- and the Lutheran Church does not believe in Purgatory. (According to Martin Luther: “Of Purgatory there is no mention in Holy Scripture; it is a lie of the devil, in order that the papists may have some market days and snares for catching money…”) But God knew that I lived next door, and that I could explain what had happened.

I explained that her husband was in Purgatory, and that God had allowed him to visit her to ask for her prayers, that he may be released from his purification and enter Heaven. Then I was inspired to tell her to close her eyes and ask Jesus if I had told her the truth. She did as I asked, opened her eyes and said, “Yes. It is true.” (Jesus had spoken to her.)

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
(To Release 1,000 Souls from Purgatory)

“Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with all the Masses being said throughout the world today for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, those in the Universal Church, in my home and within my family. Amen.”

HOW DEMONS AFFECT OBJECTS

When people cease to believe in the One True God, they will believe in anything: materialism, superstition, the Occult… spiritism, witchcraft, divination… animism (the worship of spirits in trees, rocks, rivers…) and/or the worship of mother earth (Gaia). The worship of idols of pagan gods and goddesses is the worship of demons.

Demons can affect objects directly, as in a case of the physical movement of objects… or preternatural effects on lights and other electrical appliances (demonic infestation). But demons usually affect objects indirectly, by tempting people to do evil (like the desecration of churches).

Demons can also “attach to” or “reside with” objects: New Age crystals, idols (gods and goddesses of false religions), objects used in pagan rituals (ceremonial masks, candles, knives, chalices, cauldrons...), objects of the Occult (amulets, good luck charms… Ouija boards, Tarot cards), cursed books written by Occultists (like Helena P. Blavatsky, Alice Bailey and Aleister Crowley) and objects used in witchcraft, voodoo, Santeria and Satanism...

Such objects can be cursed and bring a dark presence into your home. Cursed objects can serve as a conduit for evil. They can be the source of a demonic infestation. This can cause fear, obsessive thoughts, emotional stress, anger, arguments… anxiety, depression, nightmares, insomnia, sleep paralysis… headaches, nausea, digestion problems… and other physical ailments due to a weakened immune system. Any object connected to a dark, diabolical force will carry a “spiritual attachment.”

Cursed objects (like objects of the Occult) must be removed from the home. They must be destroyed in such a way that they no longer resemble what they once were and/or blessed with holy water and buried. (Some people bury cursed objects with a blessed St. Benedict medal.

~ * * * ~

The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt: (...) take some of its blood (the blood of a lamb) and apply it to the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses (...) But for you the blood will mark the houses where you are. Seeing the blood, I will pass over you; thereby, when I strike the land of Egypt, no destructive blow will come upon you. (Exodus 12:1,7,13)

The blood of the Lamb protects.

Pleading the blood of Jesus on an object (or, applying the blood of Jesus to an object) will drive away evil spirits. It will also protect an object from people under the influence of evil spirits. (People who desecrate Catholic statues are under the influence of evil spirits.

~ * * * ~

Before my friend Ashok left for India, he offered me a statue -- an idol of Ganesh, a Hindu god. I accepted this gift because I know that evil spirits can “attach” to idols of false gods. (The worship of Hindu gods and goddesses is the worship of demons!) So, I accepted the gift. My intention was to protect others from something that could possibly be harmful. (Bringing such an object into one's home can be the cause of a demonic infestation.)

I pled the blood of Jesus on (I applied the blood of Jesus to) the idol of Ganesh. And when Ashok was gone, I destroyed it.

~ * * * ~

Any object exposed to a diabolical force can carry a “spiritual attachment.” For example, antique furniture can have a spiritual attachment and bring a dark presence into your home. [Always spray antique furniture with (a mist of) holy water.]

“From long experience I have learned that there is nothing like 'holy water' to put devils to flight.” _ St. Teresa of Avila

Sacramentals such as the crucifix, blessed medals and icons, exorcised salt and holy water can help in restoring peace to your home. (I have used holy water to clear demon-infested homes.)

Sacramentals are sacred signs instituted by the Church. [These blessed objects] prepare men to receive the fruit [the chief effect] of the Sacraments and sanctify different circumstances of life [various occasions in life are rendered holy]. (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1677)

Like many Catholics, I wear a blessed Miraculous Medal: “O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” And in my home, I have a blessed canvas of The Divine Mercy.

SLEEP PARALYSIS

"The Terror That Comes in the Night"

Many people have experienced the terrifying phenomenon of "sleep paralysis." Victims of sleep paralysis are awakened during the night and find themselves paralyzed, pinned to the bed, unable to move or speak. Many experience frightening visions of demons, dark shadows, shadow men... or an old woman -- a witch or old hag.

Victims of sleep paralysis have visual hallucinations (like being visited by aliens) and lucid dreams (dark or light) "that feel so real." Some have "out of body" experiences. Many find these experiences frightening; others find these experiences exciting. Some hear voices... and feel physical vibrations... And some enjoy these sensations.

"Some of my experiences (of sleep paralysis) are encounters with malevolent demons. Although nothing ever harms me, I sometimes hallucinate physical pain. Other experiences are enjoyable and include flying or floating (out of body), sexual encounters with an imagined, human-looking figure (succubus)... and feelings of amazing energy all over my body."

[ Many women and men have experienced the unwelcomed visit of a spirit that seduces, sexually stimulates... and attempts sexual penetration.
For More: http://catholicdeliverance.blogspot.com/2014/08/sex-demons-incubi-and-succubi.html ]

These spiritual attacks can occur for decades. Those who seek medical advice are often misdiagnosed and labeled psychotic or schizophrenic.

As with the “alien abduction” experience, the experience of “sleep paralysis” can be abruptly stopped by crying out the Name, JESUS!

God greatly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the Name that is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)

The Name of Jesus causes the Devil to tremble.

But the one name that contains everything is the one that the Son of God received in His incarnation: JESUS. The divine name may not be spoken by human lips, but by assuming our humanity The Word of God hands it over to us and we can invoke it: "Jesus," "YHWH saves." (Exodus 3:14; 33:19-23; Matthew 1:21) The name "Jesus" contains all: God and man and the whole economy of creation and salvation. To pray "Jesus" is to invoke Him and to call Him within us. His name is the only one that contains the presence it signifies. Jesus is the Risen One, and whoever invokes the name of Jesus is welcoming the Son of God who loved him and who gave Himself up for him. (Romans 10:13; Acts 2:21; 3:15-16; Galatians 2:20) _ Catechism of the Catholic Church, #2666

~ * * * ~

THERE ARE WAYS TO PREVENT SLEEP PARALYSIS FROM OCCURRING:

1) At bedtime, lightly spray the bedroom with holy water.

2) Use the following protection prayer:

"In the Name of Jesus, through the Immaculate Virgin Mary, I subject my mind and my dreams only to the work of the Holy Spirit.
I ask you Lord Jesus to bind up all powers of darkness and forbid them to work in my dreams or any part of my subconscious while I sleep.
Amen."

3) Pray the rosary, asking Mary to protect you during the night.

4) Do the following spiritual warfare:

"I plead the Blood of Jesus on my mind and body." / "I plead the Blood of Jesus on every evil spirit attacking my mind and body."

5) Get your home blessed by a priest.

6) Become a daily communicant.

If nothing seems to work, ask your pastor to do the "renewal of baptismal promises with the sprinkling of holy water" -- as is done at Easter.
